ORMONDVILLE S.M. COURT.
SAT CKDAY. (Before Mr S. McCarthy, S.M.) [OWN CORRESPONDENT.] CRIMINAL. Jolm MeArthur was charged that on the 12th of June, at Makotuku, i lie- did cany loaded firearms "in a railway carriage. The accused pleaded guilty, and the police stated that the facts of the case were tliat the accused was slightly • under trie inHtiejico of liquor returning from Dannevirke. Ho had a Joaded fivechambered revolver, and another man, also slightly intoxicated, was endeavoring to got it from him. Eventually another passenger took possession of the revolver. His Worship admonished accused and fined him 20s, with court costs 7s. CIVIL. * M. C. Symons (Mr Hoskjug) v. ' Ernest Varran, claim £8 8s Id. Judgment by default, with court costs 12s, solicitor's fee 10s' 6d. Alex. Adamsou v. George and C. J. Martin, claim 18s. Judgment by default, with coitrt costs Bs. M. C. Symons (Mr Hosking) v. W. Nicol, claim £10 JOs for meat supplied. ' The defendant counter-claim-ed for £11 19s for grazing of bullocks. Evidence was given for the plaintiff by himself and Alfred Ayree, his assistant. The defendant, who condxicted his own ease,, alone gave evidence in support of his claim. The main clajm was admitted, but in the counter-claim Symons and his wit^ ness absolutely denied ever giving the defendant. any animals to graze. His Worship; in giving judgment, stated that he believed the counter-claim to be merely a truriiped-up- stoiy. Judgment was entered for the plaintiff in the main case for £10 10s, with costs £1 9s and .solicitor's fee £1 Is. In the counter claim the information was dismissed with costs against theplaintiff. ; John Brandon v. J. Q'Doimell (Mr Hosking), claim £3 16s for .goods supplied and cash lent. This was the continuation of an adjourned case from Dannevirke. Judgment was given- for 4s (cash lent) with no costs.
