WELLINGTON CITY.
FURTHER IMPROVEMENTS. [press association.] WELLINGTON, to-day. A block of land in the heart of the city, at the junction of Willis and Manners streets, and known as the Heath estate, has been offered to the City Council for street widening purposes. It .was lately purchased by a syndicate, who are willing to take 4* debentures at 20 years. According to the, scheme suggested, ( the Council could widen both Willis and Manners streets, and carry Victoria street through into the latter portion left, and the increased value by these improvements would, it is asserted, fully cover the interest.
