BOOTMAKERS' AWARD.
[PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, to-day. An, award embodying 1 tho agreement regarding female workers in the bootmaking trade lias been filed in the Arbitration Court. It applies to Auckland, Wellington, Canterbury, Otago, and Southland. Preference is given to unionists, hours, 45 per week,; overtime, time and a-quarter for first two hours and time and ahalf after; minimum wage for females after five years, £1 7s 6d ; waxthread machinists, £1 los; apprentices, first year 7s, second lls, third los, fourth 10s, fifth 235. The award expires in 1911.
