OBJECTION TO POSTPONEMENT.

WELLINGTON, yesterday. A meeting of protest against the postponement of Parliament is to be held on Tuesday evening. The Mayor will preside, and all Wellington members of Parliament will speak. The meeting is the outcome of a gathering of commercial and professional men held yesterday; the proceedings then were oi' a, privato nature, hut it is reported that there was unanimous opinions expressed that the postponement of the business of the country until September or October next j in order to allow the Prime Minister j to go to London was altogether an undesirable thing to do. It was resolved to put the matter before the citizens, hence the meeting. Mr W. F. Massey, when approached by the- promoters, favored the idea of the meeting yesterday, and agreed that the proceedings should be of the nature of a citizens' protest and not j associated with the Oppositionist ! party, as such there is a probability, however, of Mr Massey being one of the speakers.
