The Referees' Association wrote iv regard to the same matter, and stat- , ing that referees had been instructed { to warn all players before commence- j ment of game that any offence under this heading would be met by the player being ordered off and reported to tho Sub-Union.— Endorsed, the competing teams to be notified of tho decision. From tho Referees' Association, stating that referees' had been instructed not to start games until al spectators were outside of fences, and clear of the field of play, and asking the assistance of the Sub-Union in keeping the grounds clear. — Resolved, That tho Sub-Union give assistance in the direction indicated. From Waipawa Sub-Union, re shield match. — Matter left in fho hands of the chairman and secretary to deal with. An inquiry was then held by tho Sub-Union in com-mit-teo into charges of alleged misconduct against two members of the Woodville Thirds team (Nicholas and S. Robertson). It transpired that the players mentioned had disputed tho decisions of the referee, and had also used indecent language. The charges were considered fully 'proved, and as it was thought necessary' to put any such, behaviour down with a firm hand, it was decided to disqualify the players mentioned for a term of five years from date. Tho. referee was thanked for reporting the matter to the SubUnion. It was resolved to approach the Hockey Sub-Union as to the holding of a conference to discuss the basis of an arrangement for the mutual endorsing of disqualifications imposed by either' body, and the chairman and secretary wero appointed to represent the Sub-Union. An interesting point as to tho interpretation of match .rule 9 was brought up. In the instance the player affected was a third player who played junior on one occasion, and the following week, in the morning*,' played in a third game and in the afternoon junior again. It was contended by some members that as the player had taken part in two consecutivo junio/ matches ho became a junior player, whle others thought that tho fact of taking part in a "thirds" game between the two junior, matches mentioned, still allowed him his status as 'a; third player. It was eventually decided to submit tho question to tho H.B. Rugby Union for an interpretation of the rule. The player in question to be allowed to play third grade, pending reply from 1T.8.R.U. The Excelsior Club's junior team having forfeited two- games, it was resolved to inquire us to whether the team int ended to fulfil its engagements. ' Notice of motion was tabled by Mr Shanly . That in the event of tho' team of any club in their respective grades failing to fulfil their engagements on the consecutive occasions, the team bo debarred fron competing in any competition for tho season current. At tho request of the Aotea Club, it was to writo the H.B. Union ro Morgan's application for reinstatement. Tho chairman's action in making arrangements for the removal of flags ami stands from the grounds was approved. The ground committee wore empowered to procure any necessary material for the grounds.
