FIVK HOTELS CLOSED. fI'RKSS ASSOCIATION.] AUCKLAND., last night. The Auckland City Licensing Committee decided to-night to close the following hotels : — Bricklayers' Arms in Federal street, owned by Campbell, Ehrenfried and Co. Railivay Terminus Hotel, Beach Road, lease held )>j. Hancock and Co. Newton Hotel, Karangahape Road' lease held by Hancock and Co. Park Hotel, Wcilesley street, lease held by Campbell, Ehrenfried and Co. Fitzroy Hotel, Wakenold street, owned hy the Great Northern Brewery. ■ The maximum number .of hotels the committee had power to close was 14 and the minimum' three. i The brewers estimate their' loss as. between value of the places named as hotels and their value' as unlicensed houses jit between £16,000 and £18,888.
