WELLINGTON;, yesterday, ..The only student of, the Auckland University College, who had the honor of having the M.A : . degree conferred upon him this year is Mr E. Chitty, who won the distinction under the most exceptional circumstances, in that he has been totally blind since i birth. In referring tt> ■this fact at tlie capping ■ ceremony ■ to-day, Mr Joynt (Registrar of the /University of New Zealand), classed it as one of the most extraordinary achievements ever recorded in New Zealand.
