A fire broke out in the kitchen of the Egriiont Private Hotel, in Taranaki street, at 3.20 this morning. ■ : The fiames were suppressed after considerable damage. had been done to several rooms. The building was owned by Dwan Bros., and insured in the. Atlas Office for £4500. The lessee is J. H. Baker, whoso furniture and stock was insured in the Cominereial Union, for £750.
