An adjourned' ordinary meeting of the Borough Council will be held on Tuesday evening next. j At the court j r esterday mornnig, John McNaughton was sentenced to two months' imprisonment in Napier gaol for disorderly conduct whilst drunk and with resisting the police. Evidence was given by Henry Breakwell and Constables Maloney and • Keane. Henry Elliott and Thomas Mumphy were each fined 40s, with tlie alternative of 14 days' imprisonment, for inciting McNaughton -£o resist the police. Pastor Hies and Mr Dobson, J.'sP., presided.
