The market "ruled higher than at this time last year for the best grades of wool, but for coarse bush-stained there was a drop of about Id. Fine wool, suitable for America, brought the good price of 12fd. Brokers arid woolgrowers were pleasantly surprised to _ note the various lots going at, prices very much in. excess of the values placed upon them. The bulk of the wool opened up in splendid •condition, being brighter in color arid lighter in: grease than at this time last season. . The following are some of the sales we made: Rawhiti, cross--bred, 8d; J.S.T., fine, 9fd to lOd; J.S.T.,' crossbred, 8d to Bsd; G.P., half bred, Bid; L.8.C., Lincoln cross, 6i ld to 7fd; W.C., crossbred, 8d to Bid; M.F., Blackbourne, crossbred, 6idtq7d.
