» '; . ♦ MEETING OF LICENSEES AND OTHERS. PETITION TO BE LODGED AGAINST POLL. GRAVE IRREGULARITIES TO BE ALLEGED. A meeting of the hotelkeepers of the Masterton Licensing District, and j also others interested in tho beer, wine, and spirit industries, was held yesterday in Mr C. A. Pownall's offices in connection with the recent local option poll. After a full discussion it was unanimously decided te lodge a petition in terms of the Act to invalidate the poll, on the grounds that several grave irregularities bad taken, place, in connection with the poll, and which were reported by the trade's scrutineer, Mr W. Pownall. , ' The petition will bo lodged immediately after the magisterial recount of the votes is. concluded on Friday.
