AUCKLAND, Saturday

•- Wm. Podgers, employed at the Auckland Club, met with a nasty accident to-flay. He 'was. cleaning a skyliglit, and fell through to the iloor, a distance of about 15 or 16 feot. Podgers was badly cut about the legs, and underwent an operation-to-day at i:-he hospital on account of an artery in one arm having been .severed. The man fell flat on his back, and,a heavy sheet of plate-glass fell on top of him. .""

DI7NEDIN, last night

James McDonald, married, about 60 years of age, residing in Elgin Koach Sydenham, was found by the police about. 9. 45"-^>. m. yesterday. in the street, s^te complained of feeling unwell, and was taken to the hospital, but on arrival there became unconscious, arid died at. 11.10 p.m. Deceased arrived from Christchurch three days before his death. Heart failure is said to be the cause of death. . -
