EVERY HOUSEWIFE SHOULD KNOW That coat linings that have become soiled can bo cleaned at home by moistening a clean piece of white flannel with benzine, and rubbing the soiled part carefully one way. That all smell of fish or onions may be instantly removed from -the hands or a utensil in which the articles have been cooked by rubbing with dry mustard or washing in water containing a ieaspoonhil of mustard to a, cup of water. That you. should grease the bottom of the kettle before you place on the stove. It will prevent the kettle from getting black. When you wash it the kettle will be perfectly clean. That to remove a grease spot, place a blotter under the spot, apply a past© made of French chalk and gasoline ; leave on nntil dry, brush , and the spot is no more. That you may -clean linoleum without washing. To clo this first remove all dust, then take a piece of flannel sprinkled with paraffin and rub the linoleum. It will appear like new. How to wash blankets, put one pound of soap and one half-pound of borax in one gallon of water ; boil until thoroughly dissolved. Lay the blankets in tubs, add one-half the mixture with as much cold water as' will cover thorn. Let them soak m this over night,- by morning all the dirt will be extracted. Then make cold suds of tho other half, squeeze blankets through wringer out of the first suds, and throw in the second; dip them up and down, but do not rub on board; run through wringer again; shake well and hang up to dry. v
