! 7_• IVELLINGTON, to-day. X *!A sad boating fatality occurred at ■Lake Bruhner on Saturday ■evening. ;I| appears that Mr and Mrs 'Green iaiid family went out on the lake in i two "boats. Mr and Mrs Green and [avboy (aged 14 years) in a flat-bot-ftonied boat had proceeded as far as Horseshoe .bay, and were returning between 5 and 6 o'clock on their homeward trip, when the boy decided to change places with his father. In the act of changing the boat capsized., and turned over. As soon .as the, boat filled, Mr and Mrs Green sank, and the boy did not see them again. The lad hung on to the bottom of the boat till the second boat came up, Avhen he was rescued. The occupants of the second boat spent a considerable time, in searching for Mr and Mrs Green; biit without avail. The boy states lifchaib ; his father could Sitvam, and it is surmised that in trying to rescue Mrs Green both Avere drowned.
