ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
The Masterton police received information yesterday afternoon that a man named Joseph" Daly; who was staying at Mrs Allen's boardinghouse in Bannister street, had attempted to commit suicide by cutting his throat with -a razor. It appears that a noise was heard in Daly's room at half -past three o'clock yesterday afternoon, and on investigations- being made Daly was found lying in a fit on the floor of his bedroom, with a, cut in his throat alleged to have been done with a razor, which he held in his left hand. Daly, wh"o~ is about 25 years of age, was recently sent down from Eketahuna to the Masterton Hospital for treatment, and had been discharged from that institution, about a fortnight ago. He is said to have, been subject to fits for some time. Daly was attended by Dr Cowie, who ordered his removal to the hospital, where is is progressing favorably.
