PUBLIC HOLIDAYS.
[PBESB ASSOCIATION.]
WELLINGTON, yesterday. To-day, Sir William Steward introduced- a deputation of members of Parliament to the Hon. R. MoNab, with a request that the Publio Holidays Bill should be amended in the direction of making Easter Saturday a compulsory holiday. . This, it was pointed out, would give four clear days for the Easter encampment, and to meet any objection to the" increase of holidays, the deputation suggested that the three saints' days, St. Patrick's, St. George,, and St. r Andrew's, should be obliterated from the list of public holidays. Tho. Minister promised to bring the representations before Cabinet. .
