WAIONE NOTES.

[OWN GOBBEBPONDENT.] Mr D. Milner, who has recently disposed of his butchery business at Pongaroa to Messrs R. Reed and H. Hunt, intends at an early date to take up his residence on a farm purchased by him .in the Auckland district. A "Weber resident has visited "Waione lately for the purpose of canvassing for the support of the doc-; tor, whose arrival from Home is now expected daily All the settlers trust his stay amongst them may be a lengthy one. It is reported some enterprising person intends soon to uun regularly a six-horse brake for the convenience of passengers between Weber and Pongaroa. At will certainly be a boen to the settlers on the main road. During last week we have had perfect spring-like weather — warm sunshine by- day and very little frost by night. v It. is now blowing a heavy gale

(TuestTaj T morning), with every 'indication of rain. Grass seems to come away pretty freely; it is to be hoped there will be shortly abundance of green pastures for stock. Dairy farmers everywhere, now that their cows are beginning to come to piofit, are hard pushed for feed.

/ A number of settlers who gave up dairying and went in for sheep intend, owing to the low price of wool, to take up milking again.
