CONCERT AT WEBER.

Last evening a party of musicians, headed by Mr Cartwright, gave a concert in the Weber Town Hall, in aid of the library fund. The party left by the coach at 1.30 yesterday, and arrived at their destination at 6 o'clock. They were well received at the hotel, where a sumptuous meal had been prepared for them. After ample justice had' been done to the> repjist, an adjournment was made to the hall, where the singers were greeted by a. crowded audience, and with 'very few exceptions every item was encored. The following are some of the items of the programme: — Miss Mackay, "Tit for Tat"; Denza's Nocturne, and "The songs my mother sang"; Miss Mountain, "New York, London, ■ and Parisv" and "I left because I loved you," and "Dear Heart"; Norman, McKinnon, "Somebody's sweetheart," and "Shells of the Ocean"; Miss Myra. Tansley and Miss Robertson (dnet), ''Beauty's Eyes" ; Miss Myra Tansley, "Idle Words"; Mr Tansley, "Flying Dutchman"; Mr and Mrs Tansley (duet); "Ringtail coon" arid "Money matters"; Mr Chadwick, "Three acres and a cow," "I hain't such a. fool as I look," and "Rafferty won the mile"; Mr Cartwright, "Where the river Shannon flows/ '•'The Swaneo fiver," and "Daddy." All the members of the party were well received, being put Up at the hotel free o>f charge, and everything done to make their trip as pleasant as possible. • The refreshments to the dancers were provided by a ladies' commiti fee. in a most lavish style. ;' The company left Weber at 8 this morning, receiving a hearty send-off, and arrived home at 12 o'clock. The concert and dance resulted in a sum of £20 being obtained. After "God save the King" had been sung at the concert Mr Cartwright took lip a collection at the door, which realised £2 10s Bd.
