RIFLE SHOOTING.
The Wimbledon Defence Rifle Club iround up the shooting season on Friday, 3rd April, with the Ladies' Bracelet .Match. There was a good list of nominations, arid after an <>xf cellent match Geo. White (nominafed by Miss Hales) proved "the successful competitor. -. The Second trophy fell to A. W. Herbert, nominated by Mrs Herbert, and third to G., A/ H. Hales, nominated by Miss Gladys Hales. Tlie annual ball was held in Mr C. Hales' wool'shed in the evening; when Mr :F. Grant, of Ti Tree Point, presented the trophies for the season. Mr Grant, in bis speech, referred to tlie successful season that this'; -cliib' , liad s^iA, regyeijteclrtlaail^tlie Governmeiit had not as yet seen its y ay clear to ojffer more inducement to rifle clubs. \He also spoke in l»gh 1 terms of the energetic manner iri •which the secretary (Mr J. M. Fisher) carried on the work of the- dub. Mr Grant, in conclusion, called for three hearty cheers for the prize dott©rs. Mr E. Bond, assisted by Mr S. Heath, carried on tlie duties of M.C. in a very ' creditable manner, and excellent music was j>rovided by MrrJß.- Taylor (piano), and Mr J. MiTne^(violin). Mesdames Fisher arid Baker' and Mr A. Langley sang at intervals. A good supper was provided, and great credit is due to tho •committee' for tlie^successfiil' way in which the dance was carried out. .
