THE OTEKAIKE CASE.
[PRESS ASSOCIATION.] : DUNEDIN, to-day. Mr McXab explains that .he was misled by Mitchell , when alteringclause 80. He believed at the time he was sub-manager .of Otekaike. There is no need for amending the Act. The Government have taken a lesson from Otekaike, and have dealt with others since, but all were adjudged on their merits. Considerable discretion will be allowed in the future, and will be taken advantage of. j . !
