RAILWAY SUPERANNUATION.

[PBESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, to-day. The first meeting of the Third Board under the Government Kailway Superannuation Fund Act, 1902, Was held to-day. There were present — Hon. Hall-Jones, Minister of Kailways (in the chair), the Solicitor-Gen-eral, Public Trustee, General Manager for Railways, Messrs A. Graham, Timaru, and B. M. Isaacs, Wellington, representing the first division; N: Pepper, M. Thomas, and J. Dawson, representing the second division. Tho Board dealt with 14 cases of retirement, and passed allowances in connection therewith, totalling £878 per the year. Refunds of contributions, amounting to £408, were made with respoct to 54 persons who had been contributors to the funds. An allowance of £18 per year was made to an engine drivers' widow, and £13 a year to tho posthumous child of a stationmaster. It is understood that tho income of the fund last year was approximately £51,000, and ±hat ihe pavm&nts ntado from the fund amounted to £35,000.
