The wool sold to Home buyers was 82,000 bales, for the Continent 15,000 bales, America 5000 bales; held over 24,000 bales, including 19,500 bales New Zealand. Compared with the May closing rates, best merinos suitable for the American trade, were fully 5 per cent, dearer. Average sorts were slightly in sellers' favor. Short and faulty, especially scoureds, a half-penny to a penny lower. Good : greasy crossbreds were firm and unchanged; shabby and faulty sorts showed a decline of 5 to 10 per cent.^ Slipes were in superabundant supply; finest and coarsest declined a halfpenny to a penny, medium one .penny. Lamb: Best merino, unchanged; 'faulty- -merino -.and New Zealand crossbreds declined a halfpenny to a penny.
