DRAINAGE ENQUIRY.

Mr Short, commissioner, opened an enquiry into the working of the Drainage Board, the rural area claiming to have paid £53,456 that should have been paid by the sewage area. Counsel for the plaintiffs said the board was fully alive to the fact that rural areas were unfairly taxed, and had made efforts to remedy it, which had always been foiled by the City Council and the city members of the board.
