The Weber and Ormondville Rifle Clubs are each sending a team of ten j men to try conclusions with the Dan- I nevirke Rifle Volunteers on the local i range at Tamaki on Wednesday, 24th inst. The Volunteers entertain the ' visiting Clubs to a smoke concert in the evening, at the Drill Hall. Captain Harison intends at this meeting to introduce the question of the formation of a Dannevirke Rifle Association meeting. On Wednesday afternoon Williams and Ketle, Ltd., held a very success-1 ful land sale at Waipawa, under in-' structions from Messrs Rathbone ! Bros., when tJiey submitted 1612 i acres of the y Abbotsford estate subdivided into 6 lots. The interest taken in the sale was shown by the large attendance of the public. * W. Whyte became tho purchaser of lot 6, 250 acres, at £11 an acre. J. W. Thompson purchased lot 5, of 267 acres, at £9 5s an acre. Lot 4, of 154 acres, reached £13 under the hammer, and was afterwards sold to Mr N. Kettle at the reserve of £14 an acre. Mr N. Kettle also became ithe purchaser of lot 2, of 366 acres, under the hammer at £9 10s per acre. Lot 3, of 160 acres, was passed in at £12 10s an acre, and was afterwards purchased by Mr C. W. Tyler at £13,10s an acre. Lot 1, of 415 acres, fivas bpught by Manson and .Co. nnder ihe liianimer at £9 15s an acre.
