Chester Gillette has been sentenced to electrocution at Herkmer, New York, for the murder of his sweetheart, while boating, at Big Mouse Lake. A pathetic incident of the trial was that his mother, in order to obtain money for her son's unavailing defence, acted as reporter at the trial for a Denver newspaper, and described an interview with her son in his cell.
