+ (Per Press Association.) Wellington, This day. A deputation this morning asked Mr A. Atkinson to contest the bye-election, but he desired however, to stand down in favour of Mr J. Hutcheson, who will be an Opposition candidate. C. H. Izard, City Councillor and a candidate for the Mayoralty, will be the Government candidate at the bye election. F. M. B. Fisher, a sou of the late George Fisher, is also definitely announced as a candidate.
