FIRES.

(Per Press Association.) Wellington, Thjs day. A large boardinghouse at the corner of Russell Terrace arid Waripori-street, Newtown, occupied by Sutherland, a motorman on an electric car, was destroyed by fire at 3.30 this morning. Thirteen or fourteen other emplyees on electric trams service were boarding with Sutherland, but they all got out safely, some in very scanty clothiug. Nothing was saved.
