The inquest on Mrs Dillon had to be idjourned till Saturday, owing to fhe ivitnesses . not appearing. .The police vere instructed to ensure the attendance . )f several persons. It is alleged that m attempt was made to commit a criminal assault, and it is believed the leceased succumbed from the shock. Murton, who is charged with manslaughter, is a powerfully-built young nan, aged 32. He was employed on >ne of the steamers plying on the Wai£ato river. Mrs Dillon was between >5 and 60 years of age. Her husband served in the Waikato war, and is now iving in Auckland. He formerly kept he old Mercer Hotel. - His wife and he lad separated.
