THE ONGAHA ROAD.

The settlers up the Mangatoro Valley will be pleased to hear that the Ongaha Boad will be completed during the coming summer months. The Government have determined to acquire the portion of the - road line which runs through the ' Assets Board's block under the Public Works Act, arid the piece of road between the present formed portion and the Asse,ts'Board's boundary is to be put in hand at lihe beginning of next menth. This information was given to Mr J. A.vßobertsorivori Saturday last by Mr McMillan, the District Eoads Engineer, and may be accepted as authoritative. 'If these proposals are carried out, the settlers shoiild have a good road in a few months' time, which WiU save the crossing of : four . fords. The new road will bave an easy grade, and will be shoirter by some mile- than the existing route. ; •
