Time Imin 43 l-ssecs. Div, L4 3s and L3 5s 6d. Thompson Handicap— Shrapnell 1, Terrapin 2, Cannie Chiel 3. Scratched —Pampero, Porirua, Golden Vein and General Symons. From an even start Ostiak and Shrapnel Shell led for a quarter of a mile. Shrapnell led after going for half a mile and was never again pushed, winning easily by five lengths. Time, 1.41 2-s— a record for the race. Div., £5 Is and £3 ss. Hurdles— Lady Bell 1, Bellman 2, "Boko 3. All -started. Aide-Camp fell. Bellman led to the straight, when Lady Bell took charge and won easily by six lengths. Time, 3mic 21 3-ssec.
