A White League has been formed in Johannesburg against the introduction of all labour except white. The Hon. J. K. Merriman, member of the Cape Parliament for Namaqualand, in the course of a speech at Barclay East, hoped soon to see established self-government for the whole of South Africa under the British flag. Any future oleavage, he said, would not be racial, but probably town versus country. He trusted that the remainder of his life would be devoted to the trne pea 9« and pros-' penty of Soatb Africa.
