Although the yards were scarcely out of the contractors' hands yet they are a great improvement on the old system and their convenience was much appreciated by vendors and buyers. The attendant yesterday was somewhat limited and buyers being present from Woodviile, Pahiatua, palmerston 3ST., Takapau and other districts, the bulk of the stock sold left the Dannevirke district. About 7000 sheep Were yarded. > Several lines of good breeding ewes andlambs offered on behalf of Mr W. F. Greenaway were in good condition and made satisfactory prices. Only two pens of sheep went out unsold, and this was in consequence of the reserves being too high.
