STOCK MARKET.

Messrs Abraham and Williams tqport :— At Palmerston on Thursday sheep mustered rather more than of late, and mainly comprised good line3 of wethers, for which there was brisk competition and good prices obtained. Young ewes were also well competed for, and prices realised were in excess ot owners expectations. A full yard- ' ing of cattle consisted chiefly of lines of store steers which sold freely. Dairy stock consisting chiefly of backward heifers were dull of sale, though we practically cleared everything with tke exception of one or two lines. A good yarding of pigs made full values. There was a large attendance including buyers from the North of Hawke's Buy and Wairarapa. At Woodville on Monday the at- j tendance was large and the stock yarded well up to that advertised. The cattle consisted mostly of yearlings and weaners, for which there was an unsitL-fied pemand, all selling under the hammer at prices in favor of the veniors. Dairy stock also sold well. At Pahiataa on Tuesday «ve had an average attendance, including buyers from Hawke's Bay and other districts. All the sheep untered came forward, but cattle were in excess of advertised numbers by 250 head. Bidding for sheep was somewhat dull but the contrary for cattle, especially ao for fresh steers of good quality. We also sold 500 head of cattle out of 550 yarded, a few pens of backward dairy cows and heifers and small weaners provlDg unsalable.
