Awa Moa himself took first prize as a yearling at Oamaru, Timaru, Christchurch, and Dunedin in 1881. First as a two-year-old at Christchurch, and first and Champion at Oamaru as a- three-year-old. Cairngorm took 3rd. prize at Oamaru in 1883 as a two-year-old, and second at Christchurch the same year, standing first at Oamaru a3 a 3-year old in 1884. She is by Young Banker,, dam the celebrated Lass-o'-Gowne, the dam of Sir Arthur Gordon, sold for 500 guineas ; Regent sold for export as a two-year-old at 350 guineas, and several other prize-takers wheie shown.
