The Light of Home.
The light of the sun On the beautifu earth Enhances its glory, Its fragrance and mirth ; I love its bright beams On the land and the sea ; Yet there's nothing ao bright Ab sweet homelight to me. I watch the dull skies When the fair day is done ; I see the bright stars That appear one by ono ; But I turn from their radiance, So peaceful and dear, To the true light of home,That brings gladneßS and cheer. The light of the sun And the light of the moon Will shine on the dwelling — 'Tib nature's sure boon. But if Love dwell not there, With her sweet, winning ways, Oh, dark are tho nights And the profitless daya. Bring love to the palace And love to the cot, For love will make heaven In the dreariest spot. Ay! next to that light In the blest world above, Is the light of that home That is governed by love. — Mbs M. A. Kiddkh.
