SECOND EDITION. THE UNEMPLOYED,
(PER PJIESS ASSOCIATION.) Wellington, This day. At a meeting of the unemployed on the reclaimed land this morning the attendance was about 150. At first the men did not seem inclined to sign the Hat as required by Mr Seddon, and White addressed them at great length. He denied most strongly that yesterday's deputation had in any way attempted to dictate to the Premier, and condemned in strong terms what he described as the autocratio and overbearing attitude ,
taken up ■by Mr • Seddon. He condemned the action of the Premier in making a distinction between New Zealanders and Australians in the allocation of wort, Mr Eagld followed In a similar strain and denied that he attempted to dictate to Mr Siddon in any way. He said he had been 10 months in New Zealand, and was certain its condition was no better than that of many other colonies. When the meeting broke up about one hundred of those present signed the list to be forwarded to the Premier.
