ESCAPED.
(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Wanganui, June 19. A man named George Harper escaped from the prison gang whilst working among the trees surrounding the museum site this afternoon. Harper, who is an old offender, was only sentenced a week ago at Palmerston North on a charge of false pretences. The district is carefully watched, and it is expected that the man will be recaptured without much trouble. He is in prison clothes, and without boots and hat.
