Ormondville Town Board

Pi_s._t— Messr*. $rc_m (chair), Red-, ward, Forward,. an4J l alcoii|ir.^ An apology was received" from Mr Pike, who was ill and unable tp be present. : :: •' ■' " Correspondence was received from the Railway in reply to a request of the Board for the shifting of the Ormondville Railway Station, notifying , that the matter would receive consideration, , Received. From the District Land office, enclosing a schedule of deferred thirdi accrued from February to April, amounting to £l 16s ld, and requesting the Board to allocate it.— Mr Forward rnov,ed and Mr Groom seconded, that £1 Tss lid be spent', on Smith Street, and Mr Redward moved and Mr Groom seconded, that 10s 2d be expended on Carr Street. From Mr Loughnao, containing instructions re loan. — The clerk said that the necessary steps had been taken up to the present., Mr Forward said that a portion of Smith Street wanted some metal patching done, and he Would move that the maintenance contractor put on 50 yards.— Seconded by Mr Falconer, and carried, . ■ >„» Mr Redward said that he had been spoken to about FothergilPs road. It appeared that in a 7 certain .place the water dammed up, and the road was likely to be washed away. The pipes that should take the water away were placed too high up on the rise, and, he thought, would require to l?e;shifted. —Mr Groom said the matter had been mentioned to him and that it made the road impassable. Mr Maycock had offered to shift the pipes for £2. —Mr Falconer asked if .the same pipes would do.— Mr Bosa'nko, the contractor who formed the road, said that therewould not be Enough but that there were several 9 inch pipei that could be made to work in with the 12 inch that made the present culvert.— Mr Redward moved and Mr Falconer seconded, .that Mr Maycock's offer of £2 be accepted.'— Carried. Mr Bosahko applied for payment of werk done fronting the Makotuku school grouud. He had done some extra draining that had been found a necessary, and hoped the Board would allow him something for it. — Mr Forward said that as instructed at the last meeting, he and Mr Pike had laid off the work, but it was found necessary to cut a drain to connect with the school drain or the work would have been of ho use. He thought that the extra work was worth another £1,- and would move that £i be passed for payment. Accounts of 14s and 13s were pasted for payment, on the motion of Messrs Falconer and Redward. It was decided : to leave the balance of the accounts until the next meeting. The clerk and Mr Falconer were appointed to inspect the work on Fnberg 's street and report at the next meeting.
