PROJECTED DUTCH LINE

An air service linking Auckland, Australia and Batavia is among those planned by the Royal Netherlands Indies Airways, Limited (K.N.1.L.M.), for a comprehensive coverage of the Pacific. Other proposed services will bring Sydney within a few days of Russia, Japan and China. Batavia will be the centre of all services. K.N.I.L.M. states in an announcement in Australia that it hopes the Auckland-Sydney-Batavia service will be running some time next year if permission can be obtained from the governments concerned. The route will be from Auckland to Sydney, then through Alice Springs, Broome, Bali and Sourabaya to Batavia. Darwin, which was a stopping place on the pre-war Sydneyjßatavia service, will be omitted. , The company's projected transPacific service will be flown through Ambon, Hollandia. Watje (Marshalls) and Honolulu to San Francisco. Another route will be from Java to China, with stops at Singapore, Saigon, Hanoi and Nanking.* •. The service between Batavia and Vladivostqck will go through Tarakan, Manila, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Tokyo. In addition to the international services, K.N.I.L.M. will operate a network of' airlines in the East Indies, linking Java, Sumatra, British and Dutch Borneo, the Celebes, Bali, Timor, the Moluccas, Dutch New Guinea, and several of the smaller islands of the N.E.I.
