LAWN TENNIS
TO-MORROW'S SPORT
AUCKLAND TOURNAMENT
The Auckland Lawn Tennis Association's annual Christmas handicap tournament commences to-morrow at the Stanlev Street courts at 8.30 a.m., when all players in men's singles events are to report. Others are required to be present by 9.30 a.m. A record entry for the ten events has been received, and with post entries to-morrow it is very likely that an even higher total will be reached. The tourney will be concluded on Boxing Day.
NORTH ISLAND EVENTS
P.A. HASTINGS, Thursday.
Competitors entered for the North Island and Hawke's Bay tennis championships. commencing in Hastings on Boxing Dav, total 95. The total entries In the various events are:—Championships: Men's singles, 47; women's singles, 20; men's doubles, 21 pairs; women s doubles, 11 pairs; combined doubles, 22 pairs. Handicaps: Men's singles, 35; women s singles, 12; men's doubles, 13 Pf'rs: women's doubles, 5 pairs; combined doubles, 15 pairs.
