TAXATION RELIEF
BRITAIN AND PRANCE AGREE Rec. 11 a.m. LONDON, October 21. Britain and France signed an agreement In Paris on Friday containing provisions relating to double taxation. United Kingdom companies, if operating a French subsidiary company, will .bo liable only to French taxation on the profits of the branch. The provisions of the agreement are being made retrospective to 1931. The French Government has agreed to give up certain arrears of dividend tax due from United Kingdom companies for the years prior to 1931.
