DOMINION'S POTATO CROP
ESTIMATED AREA 22,080 ACRES New Zealand's potato crop for the season now commencing Is estimated at 23,080 acres. The allocation of 16.600 acres for potato growing in the South Island (against 5480 acres ic the North). Is not likely to be exceeded, if estimates ot growers' plans at present being made prove necurate. The reduced contract acreaee wae predicted, and growers' plantings were adjusted to the official one now announced. An increment of £1 a ton has gono on to the price of table potatoes as from October 15.
