NOW OUT OF HACKS
TREASURE TEE'S SUCCESS Treasure Tee, a five-year-old gelding by Legatee frqrn Treasure Green, ran out of hack class when he won the October Hack Handicap, of one mile, at Trentham on Saturday. He was the second winner of the day to be saddled up by the Hastings trainer, G. W. B. Greene, who had won the Hurdles with Takrouna. Legatee, the sire of Treasure Tee, was a good horse, and this son of Posterity and Motley won the Great Northern Foal Stakes. Treasure Green, the dam of Saturday's winner, is by Gasbag from Taupiko, and traces back to the Musket line; so that there is good breeding on both sides of the pedigree. Started 18 times last season, Treasure Tee won two races at the Hawke's Bay meeting in April, the first one a maiden event. He was placed on seven other occasions. This term he has shown excellent form. After being unplaced at Hastings in August, he ran a fourth and a third at Wanganui. He was then second to Tussock in the Epsom Handicap at Hastings, won the Champion Hack Handicap, one mile, at Masterton on October 13, and succeeded over this distance again on Saturday.
