FACTORY EXPLOSION
Woman Killed And Many Workers Injured HUGE PLAXT NEAR LOXDOX Rec. 10.30 a.m. LONDON, Oct. 5. A woman was killed and many workers were injured when an explosion, described as "like a V 2 going off," at 9 a.m. shook the huge factory of May and Baker, near London. The workers were on their way to their places in the factory when the explosion occurred. Families of workers living nearby ran to the factory gates. Ambulances and fire engines were caller in from the surrounding districts The ambulances established a ferry service to carry a large number of injured to hospital. A factory official said the cause of the explosion was obscure, but it was believed that an oxygen cylinder might have touched off materials in the tablet section.
