WAR PENSIONS
IMPROVEMENT IN BENEFITS AMENDMENT .INTRODUCED Parliamentary Reporter. WELLINGTON, this day. A War Pensions Amendment Bill providing for an improvement in the benefits for war veterans in line with improvements in the Social Security Amendment Bill, was introduced in the House of Representatives last night. The measure contains three operative clauses. Authority is given the War Pensions Board to terminate pensions if, in its opinion, the beneficiary is of a notoriously bad character or has been guilty of gross misconduct dishonouring him in the public estimation. , ■ „ T The Minister of Finance, Mr. Nash, explained that there was no provision in the bill for the payment of a family benefit for veterans children, because that matter was fully covered by the Social Security Bill.
