TRANSHARBOUR TRAFFIC
With the approach of warmer weather more and more cars will be visiting- the North Shore, particularly at the week-ends. For how much longer are visitors and local residents to be subjected to the, long irritating hold-yps in the vehicular traffic such as are occurring every week, when long queues of cars extend along the waterfront and many wait several hours? Is .the Devonport Ferry Company aware that it has a monopoly of a public utility? Is it conscious of the fact that such a monopoly fan be justified only if the service required by the public is being supplied? Is it not high time that the company made _ a clear 'Statement of its intentions without introducing red herrings such as the harbour bridge, which will take quite a few years to complete? D.R.S.
