CLUBS AND SOCIETIES
Counties* Association. — Victory was celebrated at a social held by the Birmingham and Midland Counties' Association in the Fabian Rooms. The president, Mr. H. V. Hampton, welcomed the official visitors from the Yorkshire Society. The secretary read a letter of appreciation he had received from one of the recipients of the 30 food parcels sent to Birmingham by the association in May last. An appeal for donations towards sending 50 parcels to Birmingham for Christmas resulted in a generous response. An enjoyable programme was provided by the Devonport Women's Institute.
New Women's Club.—By courtesy of the Penwomen's Club the programme, "Springtime in the Allied Countries," was contributed under the direction of Mrs. Colegrave, at the monthly social afternoon of the New Women's Club. National anthems, songs and talks relative to the "Big Five countries were given, The president, Mrs. C. J. Roberts, presided.
