MATCH AT HUNTLY

REPRESENTATIVE TEAMS

Arrangements were completed at a meeting of the Board of Control of the Auckland Rugby League last evening :'or the return representative match between Auckland and South Auckland at Huntly next Saturday.

Advice was received that the following learn would represent South Auckland:— Full-back, Mpit; three-quarters, Beasley, Gregory, Drybrough; five-eighths, Stevens, Watts; half, Allen: forwards, Hambleton, Rogers, F. Hilton, Bowling, A. Hilton, Mo.ves: reserves, backs. Whitehead, Yates, Roy; forwards, Healey. Buckley.

Permission was granted to the School Control Board to organise a secondary schools' competition for next season, the maximum age to be 10 on May 1, and the maximum weight Bst 91b.

It was decided, on the motion of Mr. I. Stonex, that the winner of the challenge match between Richmond and Otahuhu should be declared the major champion for the season. It was further decided that if Richmond won both the Roope Rooster and the major championship, the runner-up for the major championship should be Ponsonby.

Auckland senior fixtures for Saturday are:— North Shore v. Richmond, in the Roope Rooster final, Carlaw Park No. 1, 3.0. Mr. J. O'Shannessey; Phelan Shield matches: Ponsonby v. Point Chevalier, Carlaw Park No. 2, 1.45, Mr. A. Stevenson; Mount Albert v. City, Carlaw Park No. 2, 3.0, Mr. J. Kelly.

WATERSIDERS' MATCH After a well-contested game in which fast and open play was a feature, the Auckland Watersiders' team defeated Wellington Watersiders in a special challenge match at Carlaw Park yesterday afternoon by 14 points to 6. There was a good attendance, and' the result was in doubt until the last ten minutes, when J. Anderson, the well-known Marist forward, scored the deciding try. The Wellington backs gave a good display and opened up the game at every opportunity. It was only in the finer points of the game that Auckland had an'v advantage. For Auckland, McNeil and Anderson scored tries, while Silva converted both tries and kicked two penalty goals. Ward and Kenny scored tries for Wellington.
