RIGHT OF CHALLENGE MAJOR CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES "At present Richmond is the major champion," said the chairman, Mr. J. W. Watson, at a meeting of the board o£ control of the Auckland Rugby League last evening. He added that Otahuhu now had the right of challenge, as that team was the minor champion and was beaten in the first round of the major championship. In reply to a question, Mr. Watson said that the winner of the challenge match between Otahuhu and Richmond would be the major champion. The draw for Saturday is:—Roope Rooster replay: City v. Otahuhu, Carlaw Park No. 1, 3.0, Mr. S. Billman. Mr. Watson said that the match would be a testimonial for "Opal" Asher, who had been associated with football in Auckland for many years. It was decided that, should the teams draw at the end of four extra five minutes' spells, both tea-ns should be included in the draw for the rest of the competition. Two of the reserves, A. Wiles and R. Nurse, are not available for the return representative match at Wellington on Saturday and their peaces 'will be taken by J. Zane, Mount Albert, and G. Prenter, of Richmond.
