MINOR CHAMPIONSHIP WON BY OTAHUHU The final matches of the Auckland Rugby League's minor championship competition were played on Saturday, with the result that Otahuhu won the minor championship, which is a prelude to the major championship matches, which start next Saturday. In a keen game, Richmond, the, leader, was beaten by Mt. Albert, the latter team having the better of play. Results were: Mt. Albert 12, Richmond 7. Ponsonby 22, Newton 2. Otahuhu 10, Marist 0. North Shore 8, Mc.nukau 0. Five Goals Kicked.—On a ground that was in a very heavy state, and badly cut up by a curtain-raiser match, the contest between Mt. Albert and Richmond seldom rose to spectacular heights, but there was some splendid forward play in heavy going, and some bright individual back efforts. Most of the points came from goals, Cranch converting two tries, and kicking a penalty for Mt. Albert, and Frank Furnell converting a try and kicking a penalty goal for Richmond. The three tries recorded came from line individual efforts. Tries by Lowther for Richmond, and Corbett for Mt. Albert, were typical wing-three-quarter efforts, the men having to work in a narrow compass and weave their way through the opposiUon.
